Sundays At The Park

Our name, The Park Pentecostal Church, has been chosen for good reason – not just because we are in Sherwood Park. A stroll through a park gives you a place of refuge, times of refreshing, an atmosphere to develop relationships, to refine some of your muscles and release some energy.

Our church is much the same but in the spiritual rather than physical realm.

Prayer and Praise

Prayer and Praise is an intimate time of worship and prayer that takes place on the 1st Sunday night of each month at 6:00 pm in the chapel. Music usually consists of a guitar and/or piano with a blend of older and newer songs. The main focus of this evening is a time of prayer for our church and community

Greeters

Walmart isn’t the only place that has greeters. When you arrive on a Sunday morning, you are sure to get a smile and warm handshake from one of our Park Greeters. If you like to meet people and want to help assimilate new families into our church, this ministry is for you. Greeters meet a couple of times a year for training.

Ushers

Consider becoming an usher here at The Park. Ushers assist people in finding a seat, hand out bulletins, information packets, take up the offering and help in security around the building. Becoming an usher is a great way to get involved in the church and get to know the people in the congregation. Commitment is just one or two Sundays per month.

Water Baptism

Every couple of months, water baptisms by immersion happen during the Sunday morning service. The Bible teaches that every believer should be baptized as a declaration of his/her faith in God.

Watch your bulletin for baptism dates.

Communion

Communion is customarily held on the first Sunday of each month, usually during morning service. Communion involves the preparation of the emblems and a team of stewards who serve communion to the congregation. Often, those serving are called upon to pray for people who come forward for healing during this celebration.

Baby Dedications & Other Ceremonies

Need to have your baby dedicated? Is there a wedding in your future? The pastors are available to perform these ceremonies and will be happy to meet with you to discuss your needs.

InfoCentre

Recently a new Information Centre was installed at center of the church lobby. This is staffed by volunteers who are acquainted with the various ministries of the church and are willing to share this information with anyone who comes to the booth. The Information Centre is also the place to order CDs of the services, acquire tickets for special events and access the donation debit machine.

Altar Ministry

Whenever you come to The Park, prayer is always an important part of a service. The Pastor often calls people forward who would like someone to agree with him/her over a need. This is when our trained Altar Workers are utilized. This ministry is for mature believers who have a solid grasp of God’s Word, understand our doctrines and are used in the gifts of the Spirit. Training is available at various times throughout the year.

Meet the Pastors Lunch

If you are new to our church please join us at our next “Meet the Pastors Lunch” immediately following the morning service. This will be an opportunity for the Pastors and Leaders to connect with you and share a bit about the vision and direction of our church. As well you will be given information about the programs available to you. Please RSVP to Pastor Judy or the church office if you are able to attend our next Meet the Pastors Lunch.

The Park Café

Our lobby has become the centre of fellowship since The Park Café was built. Each Sunday the café is open before and after the service where you can enjoy a great cup of coffee and a delectable sweet treat for a reasonable donation
